FLAVIA NAZARETH - OWNER/ MANAGER/ INSTRUCTOR:

Hi, My name is Flavia Nazareth and I'm the founder of Little Blank Canvas.

I've loved arts my whole life. Since I was a little girl, I have always had a passion to play with paint, papers, glue, glitter, clay and all the possibilities these different materials would let me create. I was fortunate enough to have a very artistic father and a great home Studio full of magic.

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and have always been exposed to arts. My father was my art teacher for many years at school and at home. He was an artist, an architect, an inventor, and a dreamer. He taught me that dreams are to be followed and that creativity is a powerful tool in life. He was never afraid of being right or wrong when he was creating his art work. He was present, right there, and discovering new ways to express himself thought different mediums.

As I was growing older, I was discouraged to pursue my passion for art and to find a career. So off I went to law school, got my degree and practiced law for over a decade.

After getting married and moving to the US, I decided that law was not the path I wanted to follow. I started to paint again and one day, as I was looking at my unpainted canvas waiting for inspiration, I realized my life was but a BLANK CANVAS waiting for me to brush on new colors and create whatever dreams I wanted to turn in to reality.

Four years later my daughter was born. She loves to paint, draw and mix up colors. She seems so free and happy when she is covered in paint! We turned our guestroom into a home studio. That is our magical place, where we can just explore art materials and feel free.

After many classes, books and workshops, I decided it was time to open my very own Children's Art Studio. My mission is to inspire children of all ages to use art as a magical tool to a happy, creative and fun life!

BRITTANY McGUGIN - ART INSTRUCTOR

Brittany McGugin recently moved to Greensboro, North Carolina from Canton, Ohio. Her concentration on fine arts in High School led her to study Interior Design. She was employed as a designer with a commercial firm for two years prior to following her husband to the area o accept a teaching position. She has always found enjoyment working with watercolor and finds interest in the art of handwriting; her latest venture is fine penmanship and calligraphy. She is passionate about introducing children to art, as they are quite impressionable at their young age. Little Blank Canvas is a creative outlet for Brittany. She thrives in such a whimsical environment.
When Brittany is away from the studio, she enjoys shopping, making a home and hiking with her husband Ben. She reminds herself, \"Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication\" as quoted by Leonardo da Vinci.
